Pens/Preds games have always been great. The true Pens will show themselves tonight. It will be interesting to see how well they can bounce back from 2 bad performances.

Leviolette has had the Pens figured out for a while. Although we have a new coach so....maybe. I expect at least some trapping from Nashville, it's our Achilles heel.

Another good test for the Pens. Should be fun to see how this team responds and holds on to the recent losses.

Saw the lineup and I am still not a fan of Goc being buried on that fourth line. Is there any chance that Sutter is moved to wing for a period of time to see if that works? I thought his speed, forecheck, and shot complimented Malkin well.

He coached circles around Disco in that playoff series a few years ago. It was clinical. I thought he would have been a good fit for the Pens. Too bad Nash scooped him up before we dumped Dan.

That fourth line is the definition of a helicopter line. Poor Goc...

I also don't like loading up Crosby's line and leaving those two wings with Malkin. Split Kunitz and Hornqvist up... I don't care who gets who, but they are each better than either of Malkin's wings.

Malkin shouldn't need help. He should be able to drag players up a level.

Well leaving those two wings with Malkin is nothing new. Geno will have success with those two for the time being. Duper looks right at home on the left side and Comeau is a former 20 goal scorer who plays a tough game.
I'd rather see Sid's line mesh early and carry the team when Malkin's eventual line gets put together and is allowed to gain chemistry.

Also, Duper and Comeau had goals last game. I wouldn't be too worried.

And he is right now.

But that doesn't mean you shouldn't go out and trade for someone who would help the team out overall. Getting a top six player helps fill out the roster.

To be honest, so far Dupes has played better than Kunitz. Always liked Kunitz, still has a good shot, but he looks slow on 5v5.

Time to get back on track. They have looked like dan is coaching in the third periods. I would like to see duper moved up with sid and slide Kunitz with geno. Should b entertaining tonite. Horny n rinne r my two best players in my pool wtf McKinnon.

Imagine how productive he would be if he had actual top 6 talent. Pulling 4th liners up is not a good use of Evgeni Malkin's ice time.

precisely, give him some help so he isnt wasting his talent to make others better, he would be using it to give the team a better chance to win

Dupuis and Comeau aren't 4th line talent. Either of those two are ok on a top 6 line if the other wing is stronger. That's why I am fine with Dupuis with Sid & Kunitz (besides the obvious chemistry). But I don't think having both of those on the same top 6 line is a long term successful solution.

Kunitz is top 6 talent... Dupuis is mid 6, if we are being fair.

looks like beau bennett isnt to far from returning (knocking on wood). Once he comes back, he could slide right in with dupuis and malkin. That will also allow comeau to play with Goc.

thoughts?
